Lucy & La Mer on Tour

Meet Lucy & La Mer

Lucy & La Mer is an American Folk Pop band hailing from Los Angeles, CA. Singer/Songwriter Lucy LaForge leads an acoustic collaboration of musicians on her baritone ukulele, including GRAMMY winning percussionist Matthew Cook (LA Percussion Quartet, Partch Ensemble) and jazz bassist Jon Lee Keenan.

Their debut single "Just Friends" raised enough support from fans in 2013 to fully fund the band's first music video via a Kickstarter Campaign, and has since appeared in various film festivals. In 2014, the band was voted to be part of the Echo Park Rising Music Festival and also performed for Los Angeles' Mayor Garcetti at the Sierra Club's 50th Anniversary

Lucy also performed as a back-up singer for EDM legend Moby in two of his live shows, and embarked on her own solo West Coast Tour in Fall 2014, followed by a SXSW Tour in March 2015, to promote their debut EP Little Spoon, released April 6th, 2015.

"With folk instruments and often blunt yet whimsical lyrics, the collection is witty, adorable pop." - Free Bike Valet (March 2015)

"Much like her music, she is bright, darling, and smart." - Free People Music Blog (April 2015)

Two of the new tracks have already placed as semi-finalists for the International Songwriting Competition in 2014 and 2015. Described as "a cutesy yet sardonic and eccentric blend of a Folk, Alternative, and Pop sound” the tunes were written by LaForge during a rough patch post-college, when she took to living out of boat and learned how to play ukulele in between grad school applications.

"Delightful, Quirky, and ironically Moody... Playful and bemusing "Little Spoon" brings a fun loving smile to my lips and an equally frisky swagger to my hips." - Decor & Wine (May 2015)

Lucy unapologetically conveys a "veracious account of today's hook up generation" says Life of A Rockstar journalist Nicole Hanratty. The ukulele-driven pop songs poke at the seriousness of being an adult, both in romantic relationships and as a working professional.

The band appeared at the LA Vegan Beer & Food Festival in May 2015 and will be touring internationally during the Fall 2015.

"...she has depth and heart and soul that shine through the album’s entirety." - EarToTheGround Music (May 2015)
"Equal parts sweet and sarcastic." - KZSC Radio (April 2015)
"Lucy & La Mer’s newly released EP is a wonderful mix of whimsical vocals and distinctive instrumentation. This album has a very indie-folk vibe mixed with bubble-gum pop that is very agreeable and refreshing." - KAMP Student Radio (April 2015)
"Une artiste découverte par hasard au fil de nos écoutes et à qui nous voulions donner un coup de pouce. C'est ici l'acoustique dominée par un ukulélé qui nous a ravi." - Music Radar, France (May 2015)
